Buttercup Publishing is a UK children's publisher. Our picture books are known for character-led narrative illustration, digitally hand-painted in watercolour and gouache, with hand-lettered read-aloud text set into the artwork rather than on top of it. Each title is a commissioned author–illustrator pairing, developed by our editors from first draft to press. Publishers across Europe, the Middle East and Asia license these books, and we take them to Bologna, Frankfurt and London every year.
The Popshelf is stocked from that same list, and the teacher worksheets are written for those exact books by the editors who made them.
